I was looking for extra support in English for my son Owen prior to sitting his GCSE in June 2017. He had previously sat the exam the year before and narrowly missed out on a pass... so the pressure was on to get it the second time around.
I cannot thank Sarah-Louise enough really. She kindly took Owen on several months before the exam and it has made the world of difference.
Prior to commencing he was very concerned as the exam was going to be different this year. His confidence was very low, but even after his first session he said 'this is really going to help.' His confidence grew steadily as he had more lessons and I could definitely see the change in him and his approach towards his English GCSE.
The personalised approach very much benefitted Owen. The areas needing to be worked on were quickly identified which enabled improvement to be ongoing. This also gave him the confidence to see his own ability in the subject too.
Ongoing assessment and feedback were provided alongside the lessons and this enabled Owen to revise in an effective way. Knowing he was doing the 'right thing' certainly made him feel much more equipped for the exam and gain more confidence. We were able to message with questions and queries in between lessons also which was very reassuring for him.
I would not hesitate to recommend these type of personal lessons in the future. They have proved to be invaluable to my son.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Angela Leach (mother to Owen Leach, Year 12)
We are thrilled and we can't believe J's Maths result. All through school it's been his biggest challenge.
Firstly, thank you for all your hard work and help with J. We so appreciate it. I will certainly recommend you to others. And I'm sure we will back in the future with my other children.

Meant to thank you before results - but anyway, good news - Merlin got a 7! That opens so much for him. Thank you for your commitment to young people. It really helped Merlin and I hope all your other students.
All the best, Phil. (23rd August 2018)
I was extremely grateful that we managed to get Joe into his sessions with Sarah-Louise at such short notice after being told he would be sitting his GCSE Literature a year early.
With three months to go until the exams it didn't leave much time for Sarah-Louise to work with. However, I was really happy with what she achieved in that time. Working with two fifteen year old boys was never going to be easy especially one who hates reading! I felt she engaged Joe and pointed him in all the right directions to make the most out of his school learning and his extra sessions.
She was reliable and extremely approachable. Our after session chats certainly made me feel less stressed about the situation as parent.
I would definitely use or recommend Sarah-Louise again!
Vicky Hunt (mother of Joe Hunt, Yr 10).
Sarah-Louise came highly recommended to us by the Head of English at my daughter's school. My daughter, Ellie, only had 5 sessions with Sarah-Lou before her GCSE but in that time her confidence grew. Sarah-Lou and Ellie concentrated on Paper 1 for Language but Sarah-Lou also passed on some valuable advice for Paper 2 as well.
As a parent, I like that Sarah-Lou at the end of each session would give feedback as to what they had done or what Ellie needed to have another look at. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Sarah-Lou. In fact, I already have!
Joann Hopkins (mother to Ellie Hopkins, Year 11, August 2017).
Tom collected his English GCSE Results from college today and I'm really pleased to tell you he PASSED. He is, as you can imagine over the moon, as am I. Thank you for all your help and encouragement. He is sure he would not have passed if it wasn't for your extra classes.
Many thanks, Ms Foster. (August 2018)
